// Basic Weekend Warrior Nutrition

By Phil Shredder Edited by Kevin Rudulph

 My name is Phil Shredder and I'm going to go through what I usually like to eat and fuel my body for Pro Practices and trust me... a salad isn't going to cut it!

This game is very physical. So if you're not fueling your body correctly you're going to run out of energy quicker and not be able to play at your full potential. So what we are going to talk about below is some things to keep in mind when eating and fueling your boby during a weekend practice.

As for protein, I try to eat a lot of good lean meats such as grass fed beef, organic chicken, fish, and ground turkey. Watch your portions, you don't want to eat more than a fist size portion.

Energy comes from carbs and fats. But only the good ones. Rice & Potatoes are great sources of energy for a long weekend.

Fats - when I'm out to eat with the squad I try to get as much fat in as possible. Fats are energy, but like I said only the good ones. Good Fat Sources: Avocados and almonds are your best bet for energy. So when you're out to eat after practice get some avocado in your life!

"when you're out to eat after practice get some avocado in your life!"

Last but not least, eat vegetables! They are medicine for the body and help with so many bodily functions.

Other than food. Water is huge for performance especially on the paintball field. The more water u drink the more performance you will get out of your body.  I usually grab 1-2 gallons for practices I usually go through 1 jug a practice depending on how hot it is, but you can always get more.

So the check list for a weekend full of energy:

  • Lots of Water
  • Good Carbs
  • Lean Meats
  • More Water
